OVERVIEW

What PPL Delivered.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Chelsea Market selected PPL Events to help navigate changing operating requirements while keeping essential areas of the property accessible to tenants and the public.

As reopening progressed, PPL helped manage New York City’s largest outdoor dining operation and supported the reopening of the market’s interior concourse. Each part of the program required clear communication, carefully managed guest flow and the flexibility to respond quickly as conditions changed.

Health Ambassador Program PPL created and staffed a dedicated Health Ambassador Program to educate guests, communicate current protocols and support their consistent implementation throughout the property.

Guest flow and outdoor dining operations On-site teams managed lines, seating areas, directional communication and guest movement across Chelsea Market’s expanding outdoor footprint.

Ongoing operational guidance PPL provided Chelsea Market management with daily feedback, weekly recommendations and continually updated operating procedures based on changing requirements.

WHAT MADE THIS WORK

The PPL Approach

Planning alongside management

PPL worked directly with Chelsea Market management to build and continually refine reopening plans throughout New York City’s phased recovery. Recommendations were adapted as operating conditions and public guidance changed.

Trained Health Ambassadors

PPL developed a specialized team focused on guest education, communication and the implementation of property protocols. The team helped create an organized environment without losing Chelsea Market’s welcoming character.

Active on-site feedback

Daily input from team members, tenants, guests and the public informed the direction of the program. This gave PPL and Chelsea Market the information needed to resolve issues and improve operations quickly.

Flexible operational response

As Chelsea Market expanded outdoor dining and reopened its interior concourse, PPL adjusted staffing, training and guest-management procedures to support each new phase of activity.
